Population Size:
How many breeding pairs of woodcock do we have in the UK?
In 2003 we organised the first National Breeding Woodcock Survey. This is where we obtained the figure of 78,000 pairs. We will repeat this survey
in 2013 and see what has happened in the last ten years. If numbers are stable or increasing, then perhaps we can be less concerned for woodcock.
If there is a decline then we need to think again.
